The North Devon town of Barnstaple has had two greyhound tracks in the past with the earliest being on the United Services Ground on Pottington Road and situated at 4° 4' W 51° 4' N. The first meeting was held in 1931, with sprints taking place over 275 yards, and longer tests over 375 yards. The track closed before celebrating its first anniversary. The most recent track was built around the perimeter of the local rugby club pitch. The track was situated on Braunton Road and Pottington Road at 4° 4' W 51° 4' N and first opened for business on 9th May 1931. They regularly held races twice weekly on Wednesday and Saturday evenings, with sprints being held over 375 yards, standard races over 525 yards and distance races over 725 yards. |

| The meeting continued until the doors finally closed in 1936. The ground on which the former track once stood is now a football pitch. |
